DESCRIPTION:This program is designed for the lineman or employee who does not work in substations routinely. Emphasis is placed on safety during switching operations and restoration of service during outages. Basic instruction of substations\, relays\, identifying targets\, removing circuit breakers from service\, paralleling circuit breakers\, pre-planned switching and emergency switching are some of the areas covered. Extensive hands-on training is stressed to instill confidence in the employee to use a methodical approach to trouble-shooting and service restoration.
