SUMMARY:RESAP Onsite Observer Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The RESAP Onsite Observer Workshop is designed to introduce those new to the RESAP Onsite Observation process to the concepts and guidelines currently in effect\, and to refresh previous participants in effective observation and reporting techniques and in the goals of the Onsite Observation process within the RESAP program.  This workshop will greatly benefit Onsite Observers as well as Safety Personnel and Supervisors at the Cooperatives participating in the Onsite Observations. \nParticipants will review the Onsite Observation Document’s content and will include discussion of the purpose of the document with regard to assessing the performance of the Cooperative hosting the Observation.  The participants will be shown situations\, conditions\, and items noted in previous Observations and will see how those were addressed in the Observation summary and in the exit conference.  The need to observe\, record\, and present both positive and negative performance items will be stressed. \n\nThe philosophy of the new program is to provide honest and candid feedback to cooperative leaders to help them better understand their current state of safety performance.  This feedback can be used as important input into a safety improvement plan.\n\n\nThe observation process evaluates questions based on levels of meeting program requirements\, including an overall onsite team evaluation for each section of the onsite observation document.\n\n\nThe new evaluation levels and definitions are intended to help guide teams when conducting onsite assessments.\n\nCompletion of this Onsite Observation Workshop\, along with participation in an actual Onsite Observation\, will ensure the participant’s qualification as an Onsite Observer for the RESAP program for Tennessee Cooperatives.  This Workshop will also be a very valuable resource for those who will be hosting an Onsite Observation in the future.  NRECA\, TECA\, and the TN JT&S Program greatly appreciate the participation and assistance of all the Cooperatives and their employees with the RESAP program.
